Creative Writing with AI
With the rapid rise of Large Language Models (LLMs), many authors are wondering if AI could one day take over creative writing. In this workshop, we explore what this new technology means for writers. We start by breaking down how these AI models actually work — what’s going on behind the scenes, and why they respond the way they do. We look at what tasks LLMs currently excel at, as well as areas where they still struggle.
After that, we dive into the ways authors can use AI in their creative process, from generating new ideas to helping with writing and revising. We talk about how to prompt models like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini to get the best results. We also take a look at some of the specific tools that are out there for fiction and non-fiction writers, such as Sudowrite .
Finally, we cover some important challenges that come with using AI for writing, like copyright, originality, and the risk of plagiarism, and discuss what all of this means for the future of creative work.
This is an introductory workshop. Its length varies from two to ten hours, depending on the detail and opportunities for practice. It can be booked with Wisper, Creatief Schrijven, or directly with me.
